Trefoil Solitaire

Objective

Trefoil Solitaire is a variant of La Belle Lucie and belongs to family of Fan type games where all cards are dealt face-up from the start. The game is played with standard 52-cards set with aim to build all cards into the foundation piles.

Setup

FOUNDATION - Four aces are dealt into four foundation piles.

TABLEAU - Remaining 48 cards are dealt face-up to 16 fans each fan getting 3 cards.

Gameplay

  • Only the top card of each fan can be played to another fan or foundation.
  • Cards in a fan are build-down by suit.
  • Foundations can be started with Ace and are build-up by suit.
  • Empty fan can not be filled with any card.
  • Once all possible moves have been made, cards in the tableau are collected, shuffled and re-dealt to fans in a set of 3. Any remaining card(s) (less than 3) can be dealt to the last fan. Two such reshuffles are allowed in the game.

The game ends once all cards are moved onto the foundation piles.

Controls

  • Drag and drop cards between two piles.
  • Double click a card to automatically move to the foundation.
